I know I am so behind on here! I would like to post our Christmas travels but I know I am missing the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am going to try and cover the highlights with pictures from those weeks! They are not all in chronological order...sorry about that. Here we go:
| On December 13th it was my Mom's Birthday. Happy Birthday Mimi!!! It was also the day that our family decided to celebrate Jesus's Birthday. It was a Friday and David didn't have to work so we put the girls in Christmas pajamas, made a big breakfast and called it Christmas morning. |
| The girls opened their Christmas sweaters |
| Haley received several princess dresses which she immediately wore. Her favorite was the pink one. |
| Their big gift was a wagon (we got it out of a storage unit, ha! New in the box though, David actually had to put together the night before so I could wrap it). Emily spent a lot of time sitting in it. |
| Sometime after that we had John Creech come and take our picture for our Christmas card. Here is an outtake, I guess he thought we wanted a lot of the tree in it... |
| We raked up leaves in the yard one day and Haley jumped in them, she was a big fan |
| She usually took a running start and then jumped |
| She needs to look where she is going. |
| Sisters outside |
| David finished the whole backyard that day, not an easy task. |
| Oh, and back to our Christmas morning, here is David reading the Christmas story |
| I think Mimi got us this book last year? The girls really liked it. |
| When Emily got bored she just reached up and started playing with her father's face |
| She's kind of a weirdo. |
| Hint: wrap each child's present in the same wrapping paper and then you don't have to mark them. Haley's were in Dora paper and Emy's were in Elmo paper. Emily totally understood the present idea, she unwrapped them like a pro. |
| I love Haley's smile in this one |
| I found this dress at a consignment shop and I thought it would be a legitimate nice dress for her but she uses it for dress-ups and wears it on a daily basis. I'm glad I only paid two dollars for it because it makes me not mind! |
| We put up the Christmas tree right after we got home from Thanksgiving. |
| At some point we had a family movie night and watched the movie 'Planes.' Haley loved it. Emily ate A LOT of popcorn. |
| At some point between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Haley and Daddy cuddled together on the couch and I took a picture... |
| One weekend we went downtown to 'Christmas at the courthouse.' They had a horse and carriage that we rode on and forgot to take pictures of, and a train ride that the girls loved. I went with them on the horse and carriage and David went on the train with them. They also had free hotdogs and hot chocolate (a winning combination) and several stations where you could play little games for prizes and decorate santa hats. Haley refused to sit on Santa's lap and Emily did for a couple seconds but was crying really hard. |
| Their favorite part was probably the train |
| At some point the Feenstras had us over for dinner and the girls sat on the couch with Jay. |
| Emily had her fifteen month well-check. She was in the 4th percentile for height and 8th percentile for weight. She weighed in at 19 pounds 12 ounces and I don't remember how tall she was, I have it on a stat sheet somewhere if you are really interested! |
| She enjoyed reading books in the waiting room. The doctor mentioned it is good for kids to start getting rid of their pacifiers at around 18 months. I didn't mention that Haley still has her's, haha! |
| There was one day when Emily asked me to put this tutu on her and then she wore it all day. |
| Mimi and Pops bought the girls an outdoor playhouse for Christmas. David went and picked it up at Wal-mart and it barely fit in the van. For some reason this is the only picture we have of it, the girls have gotten a lot of playtime in that house, I will take pictures of them in it tomorrow! |
| Oh yeah, back to Christmas morning! |
| Haley got a lot of gifts that were actually just clothes she needs for winter and spring. She seemed to take it in stride as evidence in this picture of me trying to get her excited about a random sweater. |
| Her favorite gifts by far were her princess dresses and crown! |
Well folks, that is my post for between Thanksgiving and Christmas...I hope that counts because now I'm going to post for our Mexico and Pa visits!!
THANKS!!!!! Love, Mimi
ReplyDeleteMy post was actually something I wrote weeks ago but finally got around to adding pictures to. I think I'm going to catch up for the weeks up to Christmas like you did - pictures with narrative. I enjoyed all the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Emy is only 19 lbs!! Moo is 18!
