Haley plays in the toilet

Well I'm assuming everyone knows to come here now if you want to see what's going on with Haley and Emily.  If you secretly haven't wanted to know and are sick of hearing about us, act like you are really bad with technology and couldn't find the new blog and no one will judge.

Today it was super cold!  The high was only 49!  I was pretty excited about the dip in temperature but when I pulled up the seven day forecast I was disappointed to see that today is supposed to be the coldest day and that it's supposed to be back in the seventies by Saturday - get us out of here!!  Haley woke up around 7:30 this morning so David brought her to our bed and she ended up sleeping with us until nine.  I think I must have woken her up when I got up to get a shower.  My friend Amanda had decided to clean the pastor's house as a sort of family Christmas present to them.  She asked if the women's Bible study wanted to help so that was what I did in the morning.  She arranged with Pastor Liebengood to get the key and everything, I think it was more of a gift for his wife really.

Amanda dropped Lucy off at our house and David stayed back and watched Lucy, Haley, and Emily.  I told him it should be an easy job because Emily sleep through most of the morning.  Well Emily proved me right by sleeping for two straight hours while I was gone.  David said Haley and Lucy played super nicely together and gave him minimal problems.  When I got home Emily was just waking up and getting hungry and Haley and Lucy were on the steps pretending to be sleeping and waking up.  They would lay their heads down and say 'night night' and then pop them up and yell 'morning!'  I had pumped and left a bottle for Emily but she was not interested.  I think we may have waited a little long between bottles.  The last time she had a bottle was the first time she had one back when she was two weeks old.  I guess any baby takes a bottle then, it's just a matter of if they keep taking the bottle.  We'll have to work on that...

We fed Haley lunch and then put her down for her nap.  David had to leave for an overnight trip at around 1:30 so Haley said goodbye right before she went to sleep.  I did my devotions and folded laundry while the girls took afternoon naps.  Haley slept a little over two hours and Emily slept a little under.  After the girls woke up I took them to Kroger to pick up a couple things for dinner tonight.  I had invited the Mason family over because Dr. Mason is also out of tow until tomorrow.  I made a tater tot casserole my mom used to make because I love it and David has never been a big fan.

The girls did pretty good in Kroger, I wore Emily in the bjorn and Haley sat in the cart.  Haley is getting much better at staying in the seat in the cart, she doesn't really try to stand up anymore.  We grabbed our ingredients and then ran home to start dinner.  The Mason kids were pretty excited to see tater tots for dinner.  I don't think they were quite as excited to see the meat and vegetables underneath them but they ate pretty well without any complaints.  After dinner the kids played while some brownies baked in the oven and then we had brownies and ice cream for dessert.

Haley was in pretty rare form for the Masons.  She loves to show off for anybody and the Mason kids were an eager audience.  Her grand finale of the night was a little show she gave them by going into the bathroom and splashing in the toilet.  She has NEVER done this before.  She was pretty wet and extremely pleased with the reaction she got.  I thought William and Caroline were going to cry they were laughing so hard.  The Masons headed out around 7:45.  Mimi had called while they were here so I called her back and talked until Haley got cranky and then I put her to bed and put Emily in the swing.  Then I spent a while looking around for one of Haley's red shoes.  We are going to take our family picture tomorrow for the Christmas card and I can't find one of Haley's shoes!  I have one shoe but the other is nowhere to be found.  We actually couldn't find it yesterday and she wore random black and pink shoes to church with her red dress.  Let me know if you know where it is...

Haleyism:
When Lucy arrived this morning Haley greeted her and then went to the door and said, 'where Evelyn?' We told her Evelyn had school and she ran off with Lucy, I guess she knows what that means.

Emilyism:
Poor Emily has a bad cough, she sounds awful.

I forgot to take pictures today so instead I am including some pictures of the girls so you can get an idea of their size:

We were comparing Haley to this frog in this picture but we can compare her to Emily too because Emily currently fits in the outfit that Haley is wearing in this picture.  The infamous 'Somebunny loves me' outfit from Aunt Rin.

I think Emily does a lot more of this than Haley used to!
