Happy Birthday Mimi! Love, Haley and Emily

Today was Mimi's Birthday!  We were really sad to not be with Mimi on her big day but we are looking forward to seeing her in less than a week!  Ironically, Haley did have me sing happy birthday to Mimi today, I think she must have known.  She also had me sing it to Uncle Caboo about twenty times, maybe she thinks it's his birthday too.  Here is her tribute, sorry these pictures are not on chronological order!

Mimi holding Emily in the hospital!  Mimi actually got to see Emily being born, not something very many people would even want to see, haha!

Mimi with her grandkids back in October of 2011, Emily and Ellie weren't born yet.
Thursday morning we all had to be somewhere at nine.  David was meeting with a guy from church and the girls and I had women's bible study.  David helped me get the girls ready and then we all left at the same time.  Haley was pretty excited to go to Bible study because then she could see Evelyn and Lucy.  As soon as we got there she ran in and started playing, I didn't remember to take her coat off until we had been there an hour or so.  Emily did really well except about halfway through our study she had a diaper explosion.  She doesn't have those very often so I didn't have an extra outfit packed and she spent the rest of the study hanging out in her diaper.  She was actually pretty smiley, I guess she's not too self-conscious about all her rolls.

After Bible study Amanda had invited everyone to stay and have lunch at her house.  Everybody had somewhere to be except the girls and I so we stayed!  Emily had not napped all morning and was starting to get fussy so I laid her on the couch and she ended up taking a nice nap while we made lunch, ate lunch, and cleaned up lunch.  I actually had to wake her up when it was time to go, what a good baby.  Haley loved having the extra time to play with her friends.  We had one problem when she kept going to the road.  The first time I gave her a firm pinch and a smack on her bottom.  She was totally unphased and went back to the road about two minutes later.  So the second time I put her inside on a time out on the couch for a couple minutes and after that she didn't go near the road.  I would totally have been more offended by the bottom smack but I guess time outs are more effective with her.  Maybe she needs the time to think about her offense, I don't know.

We headed home around 1:00 and I put Haley right to bed.  Emily was pretty awake so I spent some time playing with her and then I put her in the swing for a nap.  Then I made some Christmas cookies and caught up on the phone with Carly.  David got home while I was baking and held Emily once she woke up.  After cookies I made dinner and then Haley woke up after sleeping about 2 and a half hours. We were taking the Watsons dinner tonight so I actually doubled our dinner and made some biscuits to go with it.  I had visions for us eating a little picnic dinner in the car on our way to Tyler but we started running out of time at the end and so I just grabbed some biscuits to go.

The Watsons were so appreciative for dinner, I think they were more appreciative for some company.  I know it must get old hanging around in a hospice room all day.  Ron Watson actually tore his ACL at work a couple weeks ago so he can't do much more than sit around anyways.  He's waiting to have surgery for now.  We ended up staying two and a half hours, visiting and catching up.  Haley was kind of a pooh but Emily was great.   She had slept the whole way to Tyler so she had some happy awake time while we were there.  I got to hold Claire for a while, she has been gaining weight so she's now about Haley's size when Haley was first born (5 lbs. 4oz).  Haley really wanted to hold Claire, David ended up having to take her out and distract her with some fish tanks they have in one of the rooms.  You have to hold Claire a certain way or she can't breathe and we figured Haley would be unable to master the technique.  On the way home Emily drifted off again and Haley was kind of a pill.  She finally settled down when I gave her Emily's blanket to cuddle with.  She kept mentioning to me that it was Emily's blanket so finally I told her to thank Emily so she looked over at her sleeping sister and said, 'thank you Emily.'

When we got home I fed Haley some more dinner and then we put her to bed.  Emily woke up long enough to get a clean diaper and put on her pjs and then she went to sleep on the couch.  She was a super great baby today, I think that was in honor of Mimi's Birthday.

Haleyism:
I was feeding Haley some string cheese today and she kept trying to stick the strands into her belly button.  Weird.

Emilyism:
Ron was holding Emily for a while tonight and she seemed to really like him.  She sat nicely for as long as he was holding her, finally I just took her 'cause I figured he had to be getting sick of her!

Sorry I forgot to take pictures today, go back and look at the pictures from Mimi's tribute, haha.
