Easter

Friday night I topped Libby off and changed her at midnight and then she slept til a little after three.  Then I fed and changed her diaper again.  At five she woke up and I changed her diaper and topped her off just in case but that was probably a bad idea because she woke up at eight thirty and spit up a little, oops.  We let her sleep until around 10 because there was an Easter egg hunt that our church was having.  David actually got all three of the girls dressed and ready to go while I showered and got ready for the day.  I was not sure if I was going to go along but when David got all of the girls ready I figured I didn't have an excuse.  Also I decided I didn't want to miss Emily's first legitimate Easter egg hunt.  Before the hunt Amanda Caldwell did a resurrection egg story (I had never heard of it but it was pretty cute).  Emily sat nicely with the other kids for the first half but then David ended up taking her out.  Haley sat through the whole thing.

She started off listening well...

See if you can spot my two

After the story the kids were split into two groups and hunted eggs in two different places.  Emily took a little bit to catch on but eventually she got the hang of it.  Afterwards we stayed and talked for a little bit and then headed home for lunch.  In the afternoon I napped on the couch with Libby while the older girls napped.  After naps David took Haley and Emy outside with him while he worked on his car.  They mostly played in the dirt and climbed around in the backseat.

Haley did have clothes on minutes before I took this picture

David worked on his car most of the afternoon.  I took Haley and Emily to Hobby Lobby to try and find a matching Easter basket for Libby (that's where I bought Haley and Emy's).  Unfortunately Hobby Lobby was about sold out of Easter baskets and the ones they had left did not match so I decided to use an interim basket and look for a matching one earlier in the season next year.  When we got home we ate Olive Garden for dinner because our friend's the Mason's had dropped it off.  David and I had chicken fettuccine along with salad and breadsticks; it was so good.  They had even included spaghetti for Haley and Emy which I thought was so nice of them.  After dinner we ran out one more time to Wal-mart to buy candy for Haley and Emy's baskets.  We also bought some batteries for Libby's swing.  When we got home we put Haley and Emy in the tub and I washed Libby's hair in the sink.  I kind of wiped off her body a little bit so we decided we should take pictures in case we decided to call it her first bath.

Mommy and Libby, she looks like she was maybe hungry

All clean now!

This is one of my favorite outfits

After baths we put the girls to bed and David, Libby, and I finished the rest of the Hobbit.
Saturday night Libby’s first stretch was just over five hours long.  I have never had a baby do that in their first couple months of life, much less their first week!  Our church was having a sunrise Easter service at 6am so I had told David to go ahead and attend and I would stay home with the girls.  He had initially offered to take the older two along but I told him that was a little ridiculous because they probably weren’t going to get too much out of the service and it’s not like I’d really have to watch them since they’d be sleeping anyways.  Our church also had a brunch following the service so we just planned on going to that.  I got up around 7:45 and all three of the girls slept while I showered and got ready.  When David got home he helped me finish getting the girls ready and then we all headed out.

They got to get their Easter baskets at breakfast

They were pretty excited

It was fun to get out and see everyone from church.  Libby got to be passed around a bit and we all enjoyed a nice breakfast.  Afterwards we got a family picture, I think I needed to be holding Libby a little lower.

This was the best one we got

Afterwards we came home and I tried to get some pictures of the girls...another fail.

Haley kept pulling her knees up into her dress

This is probably the best one...not saying much

We put all of the girls down for naps in their room.  Libby actually does pretty good sleeping in her crib so it actually worked out nicely.  I took a nap while they napped and David dozed for a little bit too.  After they woke up David and I put a ham in the oven and mixed together some green bean casserole and corn casserole.  The girls were starting to get a little restless (well not Libby, just the other two) so we decided to take them to the pond at our gym because there were some goslings that had just hatched.  David helped the girls spot a couple turtles and took them the pond in the wagon while I pushed Libby in the stroller.  After a bit we came home and shortly after the Caldwells arrived to celebrate Easter dinner with us.  Amanda brought the rest of the sides and dessert and activities for the kids.

They dyed eggs outside after dinner

Haley looks way too big in this picture

We ate dinner and dyed eggs and then Amanda helped do the dishes before they headed out around 8.  David and I put the big girls to bed and then went to bed ourselves not too long after.

Sweet dreams Libby

  1. WOW! You didn't stop to even recover from having a baby! I hope you're taking some time to recover now that Mimi is down there!
I like the picture of the girls on the couch - it's adorable.

  2. I love the pictures and hearing about what you're up to. You are amazing, Katelyn. I love seeing Libby, she looks a lot like our kids, when they were newborn.
