Canche Chronicles: Another Monday, another storage unit

SUNDAY we got up for church. The girls were pretty gross so we put them in the shower with us. We picked up donuts on the way and Haley ended up eating two of them before the service was over. Emy had woken up at 7:30 that morning and so I thought she would go right to sleep during the sermon but she stayed wide awake. After church we went home and had lunch. Then we put the kids down for naps. Haley slept about two hours and Emily slept closer to three.

After naps we ran some errands. First we went to Jalapeno Tree to meet someone who wanted to buy a Nintendo 64 controller I had posted online. That was the first thing I sold from the second storage unit we bought. We sold it for $5. After that we went to Murphy's Pizza to pick a couple pizzas for a game night we were hosting. We had the Creech's, Grubbs, and Richard and Jenna over for pizza and games. Haley was pretty excited about all of the company, especially because the Grubbs had just baby-sat on Saturday. She kept asking Kelsey to play with her, poor Kelsey. We ate our pizza and then played two round of a game called bang. I put Emily to bed during the first game and then I put Haley to bed after the second game. The Creechs left after Bang because they had to get up early on Monday morning but everyone else stayed and played a couple more games. Everyone ended up leaving by eleven, it was a lot of fun.

MONDAY David had to work all day so it was just the girls and I for most of the day. There was a storage auction in Longview so I decided we might as well go. I put Haley in the umbrella stroller and Emily in the backpack. There were only four units but they were all pretty good and they all went pretty high. After the first auction everyone drove fifteen minutes to the next town over called Hallsville for one more unit. It ended up looking like a pretty good unit and I decided to try and bid on it. I decided to stop at $200 but I ended up getting a little carried away and won it for $225. That is definitely the most I've ever spent on a unit, I had a bit of an adrenaline rush, haha. I have made about $200 profit on the other two units combined so I decided I had made most of the money to pay for it anyways. The auctioneer, Walt Cade from Texas Storage Wars, held Emily for me while I counted out my cash, haha.

I loaded up the back of the van with a couple things from the unit before driving home. I grabbed two bikes and a couple boxes of stuff. In one of the boxes I saw a Nintendo 64 and in another one I saw a Leapfrog Leappad. That was encouraging because I was starting to get nervous about telling David, haha. I called David on the way home and he was actually pretty excited so that was good. I fed the girls an early lunch when we got home and put them down for early naps. It was pretty hot outside and I think the sun had kind of taken it out of them. Haley slept about two hours and Emily slept over three. Shortly after Haley woke up, a lady came by and picked up the bunk beds from the second storage unit we bought. She bought them for $100 so that along with the Nintendo controller has me at $60 profit for that unit. I am slowly but surely paying for a trip to PA!

I gave the girls a snack when Emily woke up and then I tried to fold laundry and make dinner while they played. David's passengers were a little late so he ended up not making it home until pretty late. Actually, somebody had already pulled into our driveway for men's prayer group at our house even before David was home. Fortunately they were on the phone and stayed in their car for a while. Fortunately for them actually because by that time things were getting pretty ugly inside. I was trying to clean up dishes and get dinner on the table but Emily just wailed anytime I put her down. Haley kept whining for cookies and finally I told her that if she asked me again then I would spank her. I told her super clearly to make sure she would understand and she didn't ask for the next couple minutes but after a bit she asked again in her whiney voice. I could tell she was kind of testing me so I pulled out the stick and she got a spanking. After that she did not ask again. When David got home he quickly gulped down dinner and then headed outside for men's night. Emily ate tons of refried beans for dinner, I guess she had been crying because she was hungry, oops.

I put Emily to bed right after dinner and Haley went to bed around 8. A girl from church came along with her husband to men's night but came inside and spent the time with me. It was kind of nice because she read to Haley while I did the dishes and then we talked after I put Haley to bed. It was nice to talk to an adult after being with the kids all day.

Haleyism:
Haley's new favorite songs to sing are 'His Banner over me is Love' and 'Give me Jesus.' I'll have to try and get a video because it is super cute.

Emilyism:
Today I noticed that Emy has 2 bottom teeth, I guess her other one came in at some point.
