Emy is 9 months old

Wednesday morning started a little earlier than usual.  Emily woke up at 6:15 but David was already up and getting ready for work so I just brought her to our bed and fed her and she went back to sleep there.  That would have been fine except then Haley woke up at 7:15 and was wide awake.  I got her a waffle and then went back to bed with Emy for a couple minutes until Haley was done eating.  Haley inhaled the waffle and then came to our bed where she laid quietly for a while but then kept trying to hold hands with Emy while she slept and eventually woke her up.

I gave Emily some breakfast and then quickly jumped in the shower.  Haley took all of her clothes off to get in with me but never got around to it.  Emy was starting to fuss when I got out of the shower so I put my underwear on and went to get her.  As I was walking to the kitchen I looked out the window and saw the contractor's truck outside and another truck and three men walking up our driveway.  I RAN back to my room and threw some clothes on and then grabbed a blanket and wrapped the still-naked Haley in it.  They ended up waiting at the door for a couple seconds but I'm sure they wouldn't have minded had they known why.  I really hope they didn't see me, I tried to act natural when I answered, haha.  They just wanted to let me know that they were going to be looking at the septic around the house.  I wanted to tell them that next time they don't have to ask, just do it!  Hopefully, being men, they didn't notice that my hair was still wet and my make-up wasn't done and that I was holding a naked 2 year old wrapped in a blanket like an infant.  It was definitely not one of our brighter moments.  Oh, did I mention that Emily was still in her high chair and starting to cry?

Our day got pretty boring from there.  Haley and Emily played in the den while I cleaned the bathrooms and started dusting.  Actually, Emy really did not last long playing, she got tired and clingy fast so I put her in the swing where she eventually drifted off.  After Emily went to sleep Haley got a lot more high maintenance.  I felt bad cleaning because I think she really just wanted someone to play with her but we had church at our house tonight and I needed to clean.

I gave her a break right after lunch at 11:30 when Amanda called and said they were going to the splash pad to eat lunch and play.  We were already finishing lunch (early breakfast = early lunch) but as soon as we were done eating we loaded in the van and headed to the splash pad.  We stayed there a little over an hour and Haley got in some good playtime.  Emily had not taken a very long morning nap in the swing so she was getting tired by the end of our time there.  Emy actually spent a lot of time in the water, it has gotten a lot warmer so I guess that's why she likes it now.  She used to cry whenever she got wet in the slightest.  I think the splash pad was just the break they needed because they went right to sleep for their naps and I was able to finish all of the cleaning except vacuuming while they were sleeping.

David only worked a half day today so he was home when we got back from the splash pad.  He played with the girls for a little bit and then helped me put them down for naps and helped me finish cleaning, what a great guy.  Sometimes I hate his job but when they are really slow like they have been this past week, I really like it.  Haley woke up at around 3:30 and was super cranky.  She ate some of a cracker and that helped her cheer up but later she started randomly crying again and walked into their room and woke Emily up, I was not happy.  Eventually she snapped out of it, I think after she had a drink of water or something.

We had Wednesday night church at our house again this week.  Dave and I wanted to sign up early because eventually they are going to hook our sewer up to city and then the yard will be messed up probably.  Anyways, it worked out for us to do last week and this week in a row and nobody seemed to mind.  I kind of like it because it not only forces me to clean, it also forces me to put random things away.  For example, one of Haley's headbands had been sitting on a shelf in the kitchen for who knows how long, at least since Easter I think.  Anyways, it is now away, along with a bunch of other stuff.  At five thirty I ran to Wal-mart to meet a lady in the parking lot who had bought a lamp from me online.  That put our 1st storage unit total profit up to $136.  It was a quick exchange and I brought Haley along so Dave could feed Emily her dinner early without any interruptions.  As we were driving away Haley called out, 'bye lamp!'

Our church guests started arriving around six.  Haley was getting hungry by that time so I was glad for people to get there and distract her.  She had a piece of pizza for dinner and ice cream for dessert.  We all ate and then the kids played outside while the adults had sort of a Sunday school lesson inside.  David ended up being outside because Haley was always needing something and he didn't want to go back and forth but he left his phone inside and recorded everything.  As soon as they said the closing prayer I put Emily in her crib and she went right to sleep.  I knew she was tired because she was starting to get silly, she kept saying 'da-da' over and over.  Most people stayed a little later and talked and then eventually everyone headed out.  Dave and I let Haley stay up a little longer and have a snack while we cleaned up.  Then we put her to bed and she went right down.

Haleyism:
When we were driving home from the splash pad today Haley randomly said, 'Mommy, I'm happy.'

Emilyism:
Emily is starting to have preferences about who holds her.  Usually she wants me :).

Emily is 9 months old today so I included some pictures from roughly 9 months ago:
