Haley cried a little bit when I dropped her off which surprised me. I was even more surprised when Haley and one of the volunteers showed up to get me about thirty minutes into the meeting. I went out with her and the volunteer told me that Haley kept pushing down the smaller children. She said she gave Haley three warnings and she continued to do it so she came and got me. To say I was a bit embarrassed is probably an understatement. I took Haley to the church bathroom and gave her a spanking. After her spanking I sat her on the counter and asked why she had gotten spanked and, between her hyperventilating/hiccup thing, she was able to tell me it was because she was "pushing the babies." I told her if she did it again, she was going to get another spanking and that she shouldn't even touch the babies. I also told her I loved her and the rest of that schpeal. Then I took her back to the class. Our meeting last another hour and the workers said she never touched the babies after that so I'm glad it was effective. One of the other workers told me later that she thought Haley was really just hugging them but I decided that she wasn't really spanked for hugging or pushing the babies, she was spanked for disobeying the teacher when she told her not to do it three times.
After the meeting several of the moms stayed at the church and let their kids play on the playground. I decided to go along and see how long Emily could last. She ended up falling asleep in her infant seat while we were there so we stayed until everyone started heading out around 12:15. Haley had a great time on the playground, she played mostly by herself.
When we got home I fed the girls lunch and then put them down for naps. Emily only slept two hours! I'm not sure why she woke up so early except she seemed a little sweaty. Haley ended up sleeping three hours and then I woke her up because it was getting late. I guess she was starting to feel her early wake-up time. At four I packed the girls up and we went to the gym. David was on his way home from the airport then so he stopped by home and changed into his gym clothes and then met us there. We ran together and then picked up the girls. Haley did not seem phased that David was there to pick her up, she acted like she had expected it or something. Emily, on the other hand, was ecstatic. She kept giving him huge smiles. After the gym we came home and ate Easter leftovers for dinner. Then David took a shower and let Haley and Emily in with him and washed them too. It was a good thing too because Emily got sweet potato all over her face and hair.
Emily was pretty tired after her shower so I put her in pajamas and tried to keep her awake as long as possible. Then I just put her in the swing so I could get some things done. She fell asleep around 7:30, I may have an earlier wake up time tomorrow again. Haley stayed up longer because of her long nap.
Today was a hard day for David because we found out last night that his best friend in high school's younger brother died when he was crossing the street and was hit by two cars. I'm not even sure how two cars hit him but it ended up being a hit and run and the drivers were later caught. Anyways, it is super sad because he left a wife and three year old daughter behind. David was talking to his friend today and Matt (the friend) said that they have not told the daughter yet and she has been asking for her dad and they just don't know what to do (the mom is real young, like twenty-one or something) so it has been really tough. Anyways, pray for the Owens family if you think about it!
Haleyism:
Today Haley and I were looking at a book that Mimi made from the vacation our family took to Myrtle beach last May. Haley kept kissing the pictures of people, especially Pops. One of the pages has two pictures of Caleb on it and Haley pointed to each one and said, "one Caboo, two Caboo...dos Caboos!"
Emilyism:
Emily loves to be upside down.
