Haley loves gymnastics

On Saturday morning the girls slept in until just before nine.  Haley woke up first and then stood right next to Emily's crib and said "Emy Lou" over and over again.  I'm not sure if she was purposefully trying to wake her up but at any rate, she woke her up.  I have been calling Emily 'Emy Lou' lately because it kind of rhymes with 'Haley Poo.'  Anyways, Haley now calls Emily that.  We fed the girls breakfast and then we all got dressed and ready for the day because we had a Birthday party to attend at 10 am.

Christopher Mason was turning four and his Birthday party was held at a gymnastics place.  Haley LOVED this gymnastics place.  She was shy and wanted to be held for the first five seconds and then David took off her shoes and she went running and we really didn't see too much of her after that.  They had a bunch of trampolines and big foam tumbling things and she spent a lot of time jumping around.  At one point I was watching her and she was jumping off of stuff and got to a place in the floor where the carpet changed color and she jumped from one color to the next.  Haha, any excuse to jump!

The kids ran around free range for probably the first forty-five minutes or so.  Then they played a game and then everyone came to the eating area and sang Happy Birthday and ate cupcakes.  From that point on the gym part was closed.  This was kind of unfortunate because the gym part was right next to the cupcake eating part.  Haley barely touched her cupcake and then she told me she was finished and wanted to play more.  I had to tell her that playtime was over and she could watch the other people (there were some girls there who looked like they were having cheerleading practice or something).  Haley stood and watched the girls do their little tumbling routines and then eventually returned to her cupcake.  I'll have to take her there again sometime because she absolutely loved it.

After the Birthday party we came home and fed the girls lunch.  Then they played outside for a while until naptime.  David and I had a date planned so we didn't eat and we waited to put the girls down for naps.  I went and picked up our baby-sitter at 1 while David put Haley down for a nap; I had already put Emy down.  Ella, one of the 8th grade girls from church, had a pretty easy gig.  I had a bottle set up for her in case Emily woke up and was hungry and we hoped that both girls would sleep for most of the time we were gone.

David and I grabbed some burgers for lunch and then went to a par 3 golf course we like.  We had not played golf in a long time, it definitely showed but we had fun.  When we got home about two and a half hours later, Ella reported that Emily had just woken up and Haley had been awake for about an hour.  That means that Emily slept about two and a half hours and Haley only slept about an hour and a half.  They must have sensed that we were gone.  I took Ella home and then ran some errands for dinner while David stayed with the girls.  He said they mostly played in the den.

When I got home we started getting ready for our dinner company, we had invited a family from church over.  They have three kids: the oldest is in 5th grade, the middle one is in 2nd grade (I think...), and the youngest is in preschool I think.  I felt bad that we don't really have toys that go with those ages, especially because the younger two are boys but it actually went okay.  The boys played outside for a while and then had a good time playing in Haley's kitchen.  Haley sat at her little table and they served her food.  The 5th grade girl sat at the table with the adults for most of the time and then she read some of her book she had brought.

I made pork tacos with Mexican rice and cookies for dessert.  This family (the Haesecke family in case you were wondering) used to be missionaries in Guatemala so we figured tacos were a safe option.  Matt (the dad) is now the LU soccer coach and Rebecca (the mom) works with the international students at LeTourneau.  Rebecca is from Allentown Pennsylvania and is familiar with that area so I feel like we have a lot in common.  Matt's family is really into games so we were hoping to squeeze a game of Settlers out of them but we ended up talking too long and then it got too late.  They headed out around 9 and we decided we would play a game next time.  By that point Haley and Emily were so ready for bed.  They weren't crying or anything but both of them kind of had a glazed over look.  We put them in their pajamas and they were out like lights.

Haleyism:
Haley loved playing with Logan and Braiden (the two boys).  I kept hearing her yell "Braiden, come here!"  She is a little bossy considering he is over three times her age and over three times her size!

Emilyism:
Emily is now in 6 month clothing!  Also, this is the first time that we left Emily with a non-family baby-sitter while we went on a date.  It took us seven months, oh my.  For the record, we were waiting for her to take a bottle!

Getting ready to play the game

Haley's friend Faith is trying to hold her, haha

Playing the game

I got the cute video of Emily shaking her head to upload!
