Once we were all up David jumped in the shower and I rotated the girls in and out with him so they could get cleaned up. Haley went first and I fed Emily breakfast while she was in there and then put Emily in when she was finished eating. She seemed to like the peaches I gave her though she was wearing a lot of them I have to say. Once the girls were dressed I put Emily down for a nap and played with Haley. David was meeting a friend for lunch so Haley and I got to have some nice one-on-one time for our lunch while Emily slept. She watched me do my hair and make-up for the day and had two random accidents. I was not super happy about it and I told her it was super gross, yucky did not seem to be a strong enough description.
We are going to a Birthday party tomorrow for a little girl in our church who is turning six, or seven, I'm really not sure. She's pretty tall but I think it might just be six. Anyways, I wanted to run out to Hobby Lobby and get some craft supplies to get her because her mom says she loves crafts, just like cousin Calla! Anyways, Emily was on route to sleep the day away so after two hours I just woke her up and we went. Haley was super good at Hobby Lobby, especially considering it was during the time that she usually goes down for a nap. She asked to walk and I told her she could if she stayed with mommy. She did a great job of staying with me and I think she loved the freedom. She kept holding her hand out as we walked through the aisles so she could touch everything as she walked. She even stayed close when we went through check-out though the candy was pretty tempting.
After Hobby Lobby I decided to run to Target to look at their Valentine's Clearance. I was really looking for some little trinkets to give out as party favors at Haley's Birthday get-together on Sunday. I found a bunch of play-dough that was marked down and didn't have any Valentine's day markings on it, it was just Valentine's day colors. I also found a heart table cloth for her party, a whoopie pie mix (red and pink sprinkles put it on clearance), a heart bowl, and some M&Ms. I am running out of M&Ms but Haley still asks for them when she goes potty. I figured I shouldn't back off any rewards after her two accidents today. She didn't have any accidents when we were out and she went while we were at Target.
I let Haley walk for most of the time while we were at Target too. This only backfired once when I was looking at the heart tablecloth. Haley was stacking some Valentine's Day plates (they were plastic) and she knocked over a stack onto the floor. Nothing broke but it was kind of loud. I leaned over to pick them up and Haley quickly started helping while singing the clean up song (clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere). After that I told her not to touch the plates and she didn't.
When we had found everything at Target we headed home for naps. Haley went right to sleep but I let Emily stay up with me for a little before putting her down. David got home shortly after we did and he played with Emily while I wrapped Haley's Birthday presents. I cannot wait for her Birthday, I am so ready for her to open her presents! I put Emily down when she got cranky and then worked on my Bible study. I had reserved a spot at the gym for 5pm and both girls were still sleeping away at 4:55. I decided I didn't want Haley to sleep real long anyways because then she wouldn't go to bed 'til late so I got both girls up and we went. It seemed cruel to wake them up but I want them to sleep tonight!
Haley didn't have any accidents in childcare so that was a huge blessing. I think she does better with potty training when we aren't home than when we are home. Does anyone know if that is normal? When we got home David and I heated up some leftovers for dinner. For whatever reason we have tons of leftovers and I feel like we didn't even put a dent in them tonight! After dinner Haley sat on the potty for a while and watched Elmo. She hadn't booed yet today so we put her on there as a precaution. I fed Emily some sweet potatoes and then put her in her jammies and David played with her for a while. Emily seemed to get fussy around 8 so I put her down then and she went right to sleep. She is so easy to put down when she is tired. I lay her in the crib and she goes right to sleep. Haley was quite a different story. I think she figured out why we had her on the potty because she didn't end up booing until almost 9:30! She didn't spend the whole night on the potty but I definitely delayed her bedtime because I was waiting for her to go. When she finally went I had already put her jammies on and was giving her a snack before bed. She told me she had to go and sure enough, she went. After that I put her right to bed and she also went right down. Hopefully this means she will sleep in tomorrow!
*Special News: Today we got an e-mail from Aunt Carly saying that cousin Calla accepted Jesus into her heart! This was such exciting news and we are so happy for the Brust family. I pray for that same decision in my girls several times a day so I can imagine how exciting that is for Carly and Jonathan!
Haleyism:
Today at breakfast Emily was sitting in her bumbo and Haley was eye-level with her feet. David was tickling Emily's feet and Haley looked up and exclaimed, 'Daddy, yucky Emily!' She then proceeded to get up on the table and start picking out lint from Emily's toes. Haley cannot resist cleaning out toes even if they're not hers!
Emilyism:
Emily had peaches for breakfast, squash for lunch, and sweet potatoes for dinner. She eats way more than Haley did at this age!
| We didn't watch it tonight but she spent most of the evening holding it. |
well you might as well open the Fenton present early bc the Brust present will be late! I tracked it on UPS and it looks like it will arrive monday or tuesday. BOO HISS! usually Amazon is super fast. what is with those people.
ReplyDeleteyou asked if it is normal for kids to be better at holding it when they aren't home - NO WAY!! that is completely the opposite! most of the time kids do good at home but get really distracted when they are gone from home. Maybe Haley gets lazy about it at home? (Like she realizes she has to go but just doesn't bother with it?!) do you ask her if she has to go as much as you do when she is gone? Whatever the case, that's nice that is good when you are gone bc it's much more embarrassing to clean up a big accident when you are in the middle of Target than it is when you are home in your living room.
i cant believe how big Emily is getting! and i'm so so impressed with her eating habits! i never had an eater like that either!
Yay!! I'm so glad Haley likes the DVD!!! So fun!
ReplyDeleteThe gift from the Mountz family will also be late! (Super late...I was looking for her card and still haven't found it so I'll just send the gift today).
ReplyDeleteWay to go Emily with all the eating! And Haley is so funny with how she picks lint out of toes. There's some lint in Ellie's toes she can come pick out...
