Haley's last day as a 1 year old

Friday night Emily slept so well!  First she slept five hours and then I fed her and she slept seven more.    I actually only slept six hours and then woke up because my body was so stunned from having slept that many hours in a row.  I looked at the clock, did a small cheer for Emily, and then went back to sleep for that last hour.  Emily woke up around eight and I brought her back to our bed to cuddle.  Haley woke up around 8:30 and David brought her back and we all cuddled until around nine.  Then I got up and took a shower and got ready to go to a baby shower.  David was staying home with both girls so I made sure to feed Emily a good breakfast of peaches and then I breastfed her before I left.  Not only did David watch both girls, he took both of them to the local pet store!  It was his first time with both of the girls by himself outside of the house.  I was impressed he pushed it off for five and a half months!

These are his words about it:  First I told Haley to stay close to Daddy and then I put Emily in the bjorn.  We went into the pet store and I asked her what animals she saw and she saw the turtle first.  Then we went over to the puppies and looked at them for a while.  Then she asked to see the fish and we went and saw them for a while.  She saw a clown fish and said 'nemo' which is pretty crazy because she's never seen that movie and we don't know where she has heard that.  We called it Nemo the rest of the time.  Then we went and saw the cats but she didn't really like them so we went and saw the puppies again and she liked a little poodle puppy.  Then she looked at the hamsters and bunnies and then she saw a blue ball rolling around so she ran over to it and it had a chinchilla in it.  They were cleaning it's cage so it was in there.  Then we saw a parrot and she called it a parrot, not a bird, not sure where she learned that either.  Then we went back to the fish she saw a bubble toy thing in one of the cages and she loved it, there is a video of it below.  We probably went back and forth from the puppies and fish about four times.  After that we were pretty much done so we headed home.  Emily did really well the whole time, she didn't say too much.  When I put her in her infant seat in the car she started crying and when we got home I put her in the swing to sleep.  She slept in there for an hour.  Haley and I played and read books and had a snack until Mommy got home.  There were no accidents while mommy was gone.

Okay, thank you David.  When I got home David was hanging out on the couch with both of the girls.  I took over so he could eat lunch and then we fed the girls and head out again.  We were headed to a Birthday party for a little girl from church.  It was held at a gymnastics place and they had invited the entire church so it was pretty packed!  Haley was so excited to see Lucy, Evelyn, and Chloe!  It took her a little bit to get warmed up but soon she was jumping with the best of them.  Emily got passed around a little bit in the beginning but then she got tired so I put her in the bjorn facing me and she soon went to sleep.  The kids all played on the equipment for the first hour or so and then they went back to a smaller party room and had cake.  Then they went to the floor routine place and watched the Birthday girl open presents.  Sarah Cate was the Birthday girl, she was turning six.  Haley did not really understand most of the party but she had a great time with her friends, even though the party was during her naptime.

We got home a little after three and we put Haley right to sleep.  I only wanted to let her sleep an hour and it worked out because she woke up after an hour anyways.  She was super cranky but she snapped out of it when we told her that we were going to Wal-mart.  I needed to go there and pick up a few things for Haley's Birthday dinner tomorrow.  Haley got a cookie at the bakery and did pretty good the whole time we were there.  Things started to go downhill towards the end when she asked to use the bathroom.  I took her only to find that the women's bathroom was getting cleaned.  We ran back to Daddy and Emily and David took her instead.  He said the bathrooms were so gross so he was just kind of holding her over the potty and she changed her mind.  She did that two more times before she finally went.  David bribed her by telling her she could wash her hands afterwards.  Haley is obsessed with washing her hands.

After Wal-mart we came home and I put some french fries in the oven while David went and got some burgers for us.  I had a coupon for Smashburger that was buy one burger, get one free and it was about to expire.  David and I have decided that Smashburger is our favorite burger place.  If there is one near you, you should go.  Emily ate sweet potatoes and Haley ate a bunch of french fries.  She dipped them in ketchup and discovered that she likes it.  We must tell her to try things a lot because she kept putting her cheese up to my face and saying 'try it mommy.'  The girls were both pretty messy after dinner so we put them in the bathtub to play and clean off.  After the bath Haley used the potty a couple times and then we put the girls to bed.  Emily was pretty tired and she went to bed right away but Haley had to have applesauce and use the bathroom twice before settling down.  I rocked her for a long time in her room before laying her down, I am so sad that she is already turning 2!

Haleyism:
This afternoon David heard Haley grunting in the kitchen and she had booed in her panties. Also Haley can count to twenty but she usually skips fifteen.

Emilyism:
Emily is so close to rolling over from her back to her tummy.  She rolls to her side all the time.  She is such a tub.
