Haley's first tea party

This morning the girls slept in until just after nine.  I thought that was pretty nice of them.  Emily had a fairly good night with a five and a half hour stretch in there.  The only problem was that Haley woke up in the middle of that stretch and broke it up, stinker.  I'm still not sure why she woke up but whatever.  David was meeting a guy from church for coffee and the girls and I had been invited over to the Caldwell's for a tea party!  Haley took a shower with me and David showered with Emily so they would be clean for the event.  Then I put them both in dresses and we headed out.  I let Haley pick out one of my necklaces to wear.  I gave her three options: the necklace I wore at my wedding which is fake diamond ish and super sparkly, a green pearl ish necklace that went with her dress, and a random brown beaded necklace that I didn't know I had.  She picked the random brown one.  I kept wondering why I had even made that one an option.

Haley was pretty excited when we got to the Caldwells.  Amanda had also invited Bonnie Mason and her 3 year old Christopher and they were all just sitting down for the tea party (we were a bit late).  Haley sat down at her place at the table and immediately poured herself a cup of "tea" and joined in, it was so cute.  I forgot my camera which really stunk.  While the kids partied, the adults visited.  We talked a lot about homeschooling because there is a new classical education co-op that is starting in Longview.  I know school is a long way off for me but Bonnie already has kids in school and Amanda is already thinking about pre-school options for Evelyn.  Bonnie and Christopher left after about an hour or so but we ended up staying a little longer and then Amanda invited us to stay for lunch.  She made some chicken nuggets and Haley ate some cheese and clementine oranges.  We stayed and played a little after and then headed home around 1.  Haley used the potty multiple times at their house and didn't have any accidents!

Haley booed in her panties right when we got home.  I was changing Emily's diaper when she did it, I guess I should have put her on the potty first!  David got home and  helped put the girls down for naps and then we finished cleaning the house which I didn't get to finish yesterday.  Vacuuming woke Haley up but it was okay because I needed her to go to bed early tonight because we had small group.  David had found out this morning from our neighbor Gwen that our neighbor Ray was in the hospital and not doing well so he went to the hospital to visit.  We were all going to go but we thought David should go first and feel it out before the whole family visited.  He ended up staying there until 5.  I hung out with the girls and then we all went to Wal-mart to pick up some things for our small group dinner.

Haley was pretty embarrassing at Wal-mart.  She kept seeing people who she thought were Daniel so she would wave wildly and yell 'Hi Daniel!' super loud.  None of them seemed to know that she was talking to them so it worked out.  One of them was a little kid so I think she was just being silly.  After Wal-mart we came home and I put Emily to sleep and gave Haley a snack and started getting ready for small group.  When David got home he helped me get ready and then started grilling.  Everyone came around six and we let Haley eat dinner with us and have fellowship time and then we put her to bed just after 7.  She seemed to know it was early even though she was so tired.  She got up and cried at her door a couple times and I had to go put her back in bed so finally I gave her a bottle with milk and we never heard from her again.  It is a little odd for a girl that wears panties to like drinking milk out of a bottle but whatever.  There is a big part of me that likes it when she likes baby things, I don't want her to get big!

Emily stayed up for most of small group but then I put her under her blanket and fed her and held her and she eventually drifted off.  I moved her to her bouncey seat as everyone was leaving and she's still sleeping there now.  I should move her to the crib at some point!

Haleyism:
Tonight at dinner (with company mind you) Haley stood up in her seat, leaned across the table to grab a grape tomato, put said grape tomato in her mouth, took it out of her mouth to look at it, and then put it back in the dish.  We need to work on our table manners obviously.

Emilyism:
Today at Amanda's house Amanda was holding Emily and she seemed tired so she put her blanket over her face and she fell asleep in literal seconds.  I guess she was pretty tired!

Haley was pretending to be a baby

She is weird

More baby pictures.  Check out that awful eczema on her leg!  It has flared up with potty training.

  1. Adorable pictures of Emily sleeping! She really looks big in the bouncer!
Does everybody send their kids to preschool and kindergarten now? I feel as though we are the only ones who don't do that!
Haley has such a sense of humor. Either that or you need to introduce her to more black people so that she knows they aren't all named Daniel...Does she call black women Daniel, too?
