Visiting Ray

The girls did not have the best night last night.  Emily woke up a couple times I think and Haley woke up once this morning really early.  I just put her back to bed and she slept in till nine.  When she woke up the second time, Emily was already in our bed with us after her last feeding.  We all lay there for a little bit till mommy made Haley a pop tart.  We called the gym and they said they had a spot open for a baby until ten o clock (it was 9:06 at the time).  We hurried up and went over there and were able to do a quick thirty minute work out before we had to pick up the kids.  Haley did well in the nursery.  She walked right in and didn't cry.  Katelyn watched her on the monitor at a treadmill.  We were guessing she wanted to pee because she had walked over to the bathroom door and disappeared.  There were only two workers there so I figured she probably just couldn't get them to help her so she would just go into the bathroom and pee her pants.  When I picked her up shortly after that, the ladies said she loves playing in the bathroom.  I guess they must have a kids height sink in there because the lady said she always goes in there to play with the sink.  She said they even had to move the soap dispenser (it's one of those automatic ones) so that the kids couldn't reach it.  She said Haley went potty once and she was impressed because there's something wrong with the plumbing there.  She said sometimes when the washing machines are running the toilet in there makes a gurgling bubbling sound and when they are sitting on the potty they get scared and wanna get off.  She said it didn't even seem to phase Haley.  Then we came home and Emily took a nap while the rest of us bathed and got ready for the day.  We played for a little bit and then took Haley and Emily over to the Smith's house where Meagan watched them so Katelyn and I could go out on a date. First we headed to a jeweler to have Katelyn's diamond ring looked at since the diamond was loose.  He said her other ring was rubbing on it and weakened one of the prongs so he might just solder them together.  We decided to go to Smashburger.  Katelyn got some coupons for free sides so she got the BBQ burger with onion stings on it, french fries and an oreo shake and I got an avocado club burger with onion strings on the side and a vanilla shake.  They make their shakes with Haagen Das so they are really good.  Then we went back and got the girls and put them down for a nap.  After our devotions I fell asleep for a while and Katelyn played with Emily when she woke up.  When Haley finally woke up we headed out to hospice where our neighbor Ray is dying of liver failure.  He was asleep when we got there and snoring extremely loud.  The room was dark and he doesn't look very good plus the awful noise...that was the trifecta for Haley.  It scared her straight, not from abstaining from alcohol, but from visiting people in hospice.  She was so scared she didn't wanna look at him and just wanted to be held.  Even after he woke up and we tried to show her that Daisy, their dog, was there, she would still not look in that direction.  At one point she said pupu potty! and Katelyn took her to the potty.  As soon as they got back she yelled it again and we realized she was using that as an escape.  After we had been there a while he had to use the bathroom and Gwyn took the opportunity to offer Haley a piece of candy which she gladly accepted.  Candy in hand/mouth/dripping down chin onto shirt, Haley finally faced Ray and Daisy.  She still did not really like it but at least she was more pleasant.  Emily had a dirty diaper while we were there too.  We had to leave just before five thirty because the Caldwell's were coming over for dinner.  We had pork tacos, an amazing recipe from pioneerwoman.com.  They are soooo good.  Haley played pretty nice with Evelyn and Lucy save for one time when Lucy was trying to draw in Haley's eye with a crayon and once when Lucy hit Haley on the head with a cell phone.  Actually, I guess it was just Lucy bullying.  For the most part though, they had fun running around shirtless (the Caldwell girls wanted to be like Emily who at one point was wearing only a diaper) and jumping on the bed and climbing into Emily's crib.  After the Caldwell's left, Emily went straight to bed and Haley and I played a little bit while mommy cleaned up before Haley finally went to sleep.

Haleyism: We couldn't find her paci so tonight she is sleeping with the little green soothie she brought home from the hospital when she was born.  Well, probably not THE paci but one just like it.

Emilyism: Emily ate a bunch of sweet potatoes today.  Also, Amanda tried to bottle feed her but it failed miserably.  She must not have been too hungry.

Bad pic of me, good one of Haley

She wanted to be held and I needed to help clean up so this was the only alternative.

Emily was so tired after the Caldwell's left she would look away from the camera.

Happy baby

Shocked her picture is being taken while she's on the potty

I hope she was singing and blinking because she looks like she's mocking retarded kids.

Only one eye is crossed.  They look a little more green now a days.
