Katelyn and I are tired today. Emily has been eating food which has tremendously improved her sleep patterns. However, Haley had a horrible night last night. She woke up a couple times and needed lotion on her eczema. At one point I brought her back to bed with us. I was hoping that the weather would be bad today because I had to be up at six to fly with a student. Thank God it was bad. Katelyn had to be up at 8 or so to go to MOPs. They had a Valentine's day event I guess. Katelyn says Haley did pretty well. She wore a pull up but she went on the potty for the ladies there so it was dry when she got home. She is getting more consistent, thank God. When they got home we ate lunch. Haley ate some cheese...it seems like the only thing she wanted to eat both yesterday and today is cheese. Actually, she ate some apples too. At least, I think she ate them. She has one of those plastic like bibs that catches the food instead of letting it fall on the floor. It works nice especially because her favorite cheese is shredded; not because of the taste, but because of the shape... what a wierdo. When she was finishing her lunch I was about to pick her up from her chair when I saw her stick her hand in the caught food and stick a fist full of a cheese and chewed up apple pieces back into her mouth. That was pretty sick. Emily ate some banana...more on that later. The kids slept well for their naps. I think it is because it was rainy and cloudy here today so it was nice and dark in their room. Haley woke up first so we played while we waited for Emily to wake up. Katelyn made a grocery list for some things we had to go get from Walmart. The only accident Haley had was pooping in her pantys once. While we waited for Emily, Haley went pee on the potty and was so excited she was doing sumersaults. (Obama in his State of the Union Address: "What makes you a real man is not the ability to conceive a child, but the willingness to stick around and raise one." - to which I reply "I guess his dad wasn't a real man." #idonthavetwittersothisisthebesticando) Once Emily woke up, we headed to Walmart. We went to one that we don't usually go to though (there are 3 in longview) so we weren't sure if this one participated in the kids cookie program which Haley loves. There wasn't anyone in the bakery so Haley was kind of sad. However, as we were finishing up, I saw a lady over there and Haley was able to get a cookie. I don't know if it is this particular Walmart, the particular day we went, or the good mood of the baker, but it was one of those big sugar cookies with sprinkles on it. Haley was so excited. The only bad thing is that she lost a paci while we were there. I looked for it but couldn't find it. We told Haley it was byebye and all gone. She seemed to understand as she yelled "paci all gone bye bye" as we left the parking lot. When we got home we made some blueberry pancakes, bacon, and eggs. It was so good. Emily ate some sweet potatoes. Then we put the babies in the bathtub. Haley had a shower the other day, but I'm not sure when Emily had her last one. Emily was kind of in a bad mood which was strange because I have never seen her show anything but love for the bathtub. Usually her arms and legs flail all over the place and she smiles and laughs, but tonight she was crying. Haley had fun in the tub and didn't even have to get out to pee or poop. She peed before she even got in. After bath time we read some books. Haley loves Curious George. She calls it Mono. Right before bed we fed Emily some applesauce and Haley a few goldfish and a juice box. Then they went to bed.
Haleyism: Haley fell in the mud twice this morning as I was helping her get to the car for MOPs. It was kind of frustrating because we had just helped her up and had told her to stay on the pavement when she ran off the side again.
Emilyism: Emily pooped tonight and it smells like rotten vegetables. I guess it makes sense. I think her body doesn't digest all the solid food that great yet. Katelyn showed me a diaper tonight that was obviously the bananas she ate earlier for lunch haha.

Emily's bottom is huge compared to tiny Haley!
ReplyDeleteEmily is eating more than Ellie. Then again, I don't try very often because I frequently run out of her food. I need to stock up today.
I wonder if our cookie does the kids cookie program and how young they start. Maybe they'll give Ellie a cookie and I'll help her eat it??
Way to go Haley with her potty progress!
Two more things I thought of later:
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could try shredding carrots and whatnot for Haley to eat?
What David said about Obama's speech is hilarious!! Totally didn't watch it but read Sarah Palin's post about it.
