After lunch the girls went down for a nap. Haley only slept an hour and a half. She slept a lot longer when we were in PA and Michigan, she needs her cousins here to help tire her out! We had a few errands to run so after feeding Haley a snack, we got started. First we went to the bank, and then to Wal-mart to return a couple things. David had accidentally bought the wrong light bulbs so we had to exchange those for some good ones. Wal-mart has a pretty easy return policy, they took back light bulbs that had been opened as long as we were going to buy new ones. After Wal-mart we went to CVS because I had a coupon to get some free shampoo. Well it turned out that CVS was out of the shampoo but they had all of their Christmas stuff at 75% off. One of the store associates told us about it, she said none of it was marked to 75% off but they were going to be putting signs out on Sunday and it would ring up to that price. Well, David and I got pretty excited when we saw that most of the stuff left was toys. I bought Haley a bunch of toys to give her for her Birthday and some extra toys to give away for any Birthday parties she may have this year. They also had some pillows that I liked for $2.50 so I bought those too. We ended up leaving CVS with a full shopping cart.
When we got home we hid the toys and I started on dinner while David played with the girls. As I was starting dinner I remembered the new mixer I had gotten from mom. David pulled it out for me and I made mashed potatoes with it, that thing is amazing! I just threw in the ingredients and worked on other things and they were done in no time. Usually I have David do the mashed potatoes because they are such a pain to do by hand. We all had dinner and then the girls stayed up a little longer before we put them to bed. Haley ate a bunch of bread at dinner, she usually doesn't touch it. Emily was tired so we put her to bed at the same time as Haley and they both went right down. While they slept David and I took down the Christmas tree and Christmas decorations.
Since Emily had started the night in her crib, I decided I might as well keep her in there. I gave her a dream feed right before I went to bed and then hoped for the best. She ended up waking up at 3:45 ish and 7:15. Not too bad I guess but not as good as I was hoping. The optimistic part of me was hoping that her crib would be just so comfortable that she would sleep through the whole night!
SUNDAY morning we got up around 8:30 to get ready for church. Haley slept in until almost nine and we ended up having to wake Emily up to get her dressed. I dressed them in matching dresses from Mimi. The skirt was a little big around Haley's waist so we safety pinned it but other than that they fit great. I meant to get a picture of them together but Emily ended up having a blow-out diaper at the end of the service so she had to change. It ended up being okay because I totally felt it coming. I was holding her and she started to toot and her bottom was vibrating like a cell phone as she pushed out the gas from between those cheeks (sorry if this is getting too graphic). Anyways, I looked down and I could see the boo starting to bubble up out of her diaper. I was glad I was holding her when it happened and not someone else.
Haley was really excited to see all of her friends at church. David said she didn't even cry when he dropped her off for Sunday School. After church we came home and had grilled cheese. Haley even ate some grilled cheese! Both of the girls seemed tired so we put them down for naps at the same time after lunch. Well I know that Haley was tired because she was laying on the kitchen floor with her paci and blanket but as soon as we put her in her bed she was wide awake. Emily started and finished her nap (only fifty minutes) and Haley was still awake. She ended up hanging out in her room for close to two hours before she finally fell asleep. She was having a great time actually. David went in there to check on her at one point because it was getting kind of loud and she was buck naked. She had been sleeping in her diaper anyways because we had taken her Sunday clothes off but she had taken off her diaper and apparently put it in the diaper pail because it was nowhere to be found. I think it may be time for potty training!
Haley slept just over an hour and when she woke up we headed to the health center to go for a walk. Emily fell asleep in the stroller and Haley sat nicely and ate her snack. They are at pretty good ages for walks right now I think. Emily does better in the stroller than Haley used to for sure. After our walk we stopped by Target because I had seen on my couponing website that all of their Christmas stuff was 90% off. I got some curling ribbon for my cookie plates next year, a tree topper, a container fo ornaments, some nail polish for Haley's birthday (colors red and sparkly, I guess that makes it Christmas?) and some winter garlands for just under four dollars. Haley was pretty excited about all of the Christmas stuff, she kept asking David to open the containers of ornaments so she could play with them. She would say 'open it Daddy!' After Target we came home and had cereal and nachos for dinner. David made a plate of nachos and Haley and I had cereal. Haley also ate a donut and some ice cream, we wanted to make sure we had the 'sweets' food group covered.
Haley had napped kind of late so we ended up letting her stay up for a while to play. She played in her kitchen, colored, played with play dough, and read a lot of books. She was playing so nicely but finally I decided I should put her to bed. She ended up going right to sleep so I guess she was tired. We put Emily to bed in her crib again tonight, hopefully she sleeps better than last night!
Haleyism:
Today David was laying on the floor and Haley wanted to get by with a toy so she said, 'excuse me Daddy.' I think that is the first time she's said that. Tonight she put a sticker on my face and immediately said 'your welcome mommy,' she didn't even give me a chance to say thank you!

Emily loves to break dance, see the video below:

Wow! You got a lot from CVS! I went this morning and the shelves were pretty bare - but I did pick up a few things for future gifts. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteEmily is quite the break dancer. She's got skill.
