We put a diaper on her at church because we are less than confident with her skills and we didn't want to subject the nursery workers to any kind of horror experiences. Emily did pretty well during church, she was awake for the worship part and then fell asleep for the sermon. She does have a bad cough right now so she sounds terrible but at least I can tell people that she just finished her antibiotic so it must be viral. Although I guess that means she is contagious. A lady came up to me and started telling me about some essential oils that would work for her...I don't even know what those are.
After church we came home and put Haley in her panties again. As David was taking off her Sunday dress she started to say poo poo in potty so we took her to the potty but she had already gone pee in her diaper. That was the only time she had gone all morning, she never went at church. I decided that I would let her go once before her naptime so we could have some practice. She hadn't had her morning boo yet so that was really what I was waiting for. She had a good lunch and then played with her toys for a long time. Emily had some tummy time and played in the exersaucer and then I put her down for a nap. Meanwhile Haley kept playing. About an hour and a half later she finally went. She was standing at her kitchen and suddenly I noticed some boo coming out! I rushed her to the potty where she finished the deed and we had a celebration. Then I gave her an M&M and put her to bed.
That boo must have tired her out because she slept just under three hours! Emily woke up after only an hour and a half so I got some good time in playing with just Em. David was not feeling well so he also took an afternoon nap. When he woke up he put some chicken on the grill and I packed some food and as soon as Haley woke up we went to the park. Her diaper had been pretty wet after her nap, I'm glad I didn't leave her in panties. I did put panties on her at the park and we brought the potty along. We ate our dinner there and played. There was a black guy there with a boom box with rap music playing pretty loud, that was kind of annoying. I told David I would pay him $5 if he went over and turned it off. David said he would do it if we all got in the van and pulled up close and then he would just run out and do it and then we would all drive away. I told him I would do that if he took the cd out and broke it in half and then we drove away. Anyways, he never did any of that but it was fun to think about.
After nearly an hour at the park, we came home and Haley was still dry. We sat her on the potty with the Ipad and she went pee pee at some point because David check her after a while and she had gone. We had a big celebration and then let her play for a while. She had an accident later while I was putting Emily to bed. Someone was working on his puzzle and failed to catch her in time. I decided to let her go one more time before I put her to bed. She ended up playing for another hour and a half and then finally went. I got her to the potty for the last couple drops. Everytime she starts going she tells us 'poo poo potty!' so I think she just needs to feel the sensation of when she's about to go instead of already going. We'll see how tomorrow goes. Yesterday I felt like potty training was the worst thing ever but today it really wasn't so bad. She didn't make tons of progress but it could be worse I think!
Haleyism:
Haley was sitting on the potty and blowing bubbles (trying to more like it) and some bubble juice dripped on her leg. She looked at me and said, 'oh my word!' Also today she was singing 'Frere Jacques' to the words 'push it out,' referring to boo of course.
Emilyism:
Emily likes to kind of bite her bottom lip and then pop it out. She makes a little sound and everything, it's kind of cute.
Tummy time!
Pushing herself up
Sisters
Popping her mouth
Wish this one wasn't blurry!
Her eyes are still blue, unbelievable!
More lip popping
Yes, both girls love to watch anything: tv, ipad, etc.
This is a video of David making Emily dance to the Sesame Street video. It is hilarious.
