Wednesday was a sad day for the Canche girls. David left this morning for a three day trip to Orlando, he won't be home until late Friday night/Saturday morning. We got up and went to BSF with our heavy hearts. BSF ended up being just what we needed. Haley went right into her class without any problems and Emily did well in her class too. When I went to pick Emily up the teachers had all the babies grouped together and they were blowing bubbles for them. It really got my funny bone. They were all sitting/laying there as the bubbles popped in their faces, haha.
After BSf we came home and had lunch and then I put Haley to bed. I waited for her to go on the potty once and then I took her. I put a pull-up on her during BSF because there is only one other boy in her class who is potty trained so it's not like the teachers are constantly taking kids to the bathroom and I feel like it would be a huge pain if she peed her pants. She hasn't gotten good enough about telling us yet. Haley and Emily took their naps at the same time so that was nice. It gave me time to do my Bible study and relax. Haley woke up after two hours and we basically spent the rest of the afternoon playing. We read books, did puzzles, played with babies, and played with Emily. We had potty breaks and snacks too. She used the potty a couple times and didn't have any accidents. I did make her sit on the potty every thirty minutes or so which she didn't always appreciate. She had been up from her nap for two hours before she went pee the first time!
Towards the end of the afternoon we skyped David for a while. As soon as we were finished Haley started crying because she wanted to 'talk to Daddy.' Poor little boo. Fortunately I was able to distract her by getting her all set to head to church. It was so nice to be at our church potluck after being home with the girls all afternoon. Emily was immediately snatched up and passed around and Haley had a fun time running around with her friends. I ate my meal in peace for the most part. Emily had a diaper explosion at one point so I changed her and then she was taken away again. At one point she was getting passed around at the men's table, haha.
Amanda Caldwell and I were in charge of the Bible Explorers class for the evening. They are the class that range from Kindergarten to 6th grade. Amanda took the smaller kids and I took the older kids. I have no idea how anyone would actually prefer the younger kids, I am just happy Amanda does! Emily went in with the adults where she continued to get passed around until the pastor's wife brought her back out. She was getting fussy and I think she was probably just getting bored because she perked right up when she could just watch all of the kids. I asked if any of the kids wanted to hold her and all of them said 'me!' all at once. she got passed around my group for a while. My group consisted of three boys in 5th and 6th grade and two girls in 4th and 5th grade. I thought it was funny the boys wanted to hold her but they did. Two of the boys have a 3 year old brother and they kept reminiscing about when he was a baby, it was sweet.
Poor Dr. Mason was in with the 3 and unders, haha. There were six kids total in that group and one of them had a blow-out poopy diaper, poor guy. I let Haley out towards the end because he was holding her and she was just crying. Amanda had some candy in her purse so she held Haley and fed her some Skittles while she talked with her group.
The most challenging part of the evening was when we got home. Haley was pretty tired but Emily, for whatever reason, was wide awake. I put the girls in their pajamas and put Haley in her bed and fed Emily. Then I put Emily in her crib and held her hand so she couldn't knock her paci out. When it seemed like she was relaxed, I left the room. Emily kept having 'second winds' because I would hear her cooing and spitting and scratching at her mattress through the monitor. Then a couple minutes later she would start to cry and I would go in and hold her hand and start over. Haley was pretty wide awake from me going back and forth so finally I just brought Emily out. An hour after I started bedtime, Haley finally fell asleep. I let Emily play for a while and then I just held her to sleep. She is now passed out in my arms as I write this. It kind of works out because now Emily can sleep with me. I like a baby to sleep with me when David isn't home!
Haleyism:
I think Haley may be teething because she was drooling a lot today and kind of clingy. The only problem is I thought she had all her teeth. How many molars do babies get? She currently has four, one in each spot, does she get four more?
Emilyism:
Emily had two blow-out diapers today.
Haley asked for a pancake today at 4:30 in the afternoon. Of course I gave her one!
Here it looks like she doesn't have a neck, haha
This is Emily at 9:45 pm, wide awake
She's so awake she's blurry
I must have just said something super interesting
I guess Haley used to stay up this late all the time....
Yay my comment worked!! Heres more:
ReplyDelete1. Em is getting so big!!!
2. Calla forgot Emily's full name was Emily bc I guess i have been calling her Emy since birth. I clarified that w Calla today haha
3. Yay for afternoon pancakes!
4. Yay for Amanda having skittles on hand. She sounds like a keeper!
They get two sets of molars plus canines--does she have those yet? Clark still needs his canines and second set of molars. They should end up with 20 teeth in all, I believe!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine trying to put a baby to sleep while Haley is in her bed! She's such a good girl with staying in bed!! If we stay in this house, that will definitely be me in a few years.
