Emily was not awake long before she went down for a morning nap. She is so easy to put to sleep. I put her in the crib and walk out and she eventually drifts off. Every so often she loses her paci during the falling asleep process and I have to go put it in but that is not very often. While Emily slept Haley and I took the garbage out and started the laundry. Then I played with Haley and read some books. By that time it was time for lunch. I made some grilled cheese sandwiches since she ate some of that the other day. Today she had absolutely no interest, she ate chips, apples, and applesauce instead. Daniel had lunch with us, Haley gets pretty excited when he's around. She constantly says, 'Daniel look' and then when he looks she shakes her head or chews weird or something like that. I am trying to teach her to say 'excuse me' because currently she just says your name over and over until you respond, even if you are in the middle of a conversation.
After lunch Haley played while I folded laundry. Emily only took a fifty minute morning nap and was tired again after only an hour or so so she took another fifty minute nap and so on. I remember Haley going through a stage like this where she took tons of naps in a day but they were only fifty or so minutes long. It really doesn't bother me too much because she just kind of drifts off wherever she happens to be. Haley played a lot in her kitchen today. I kept giving her orders of food to make for me but she always ended up just bringing me empty plates. At one point I was changing the laundry and I had ordered a hot dog or something and she poked her head into the laundry room and said, 'mommy, it's ready!' It was so cute.
I put Haley and Emily down for naps at 2:30 and then asked Daniel if it would be okay if I slipped out. He said it was no problem but I told him to text me if any troubles arose. When I got home an hour later he was holding Emily who had only taken a fifty minute nap, of course. He said she had been awake for about ten or fifteen minutes and had cried a little bit but had calmed down when he took her to the window to look outside. I thought that was pretty good sense to show her things outside, way to go Daniel! David got home a couple minutes after me and he played with Emily while I folded laundry and started dinner. Haley woke up after sleeping over two and a half hours so that was really good.
At five fifteen we packed the girls in the van and headed to the gym. We were hoping to do the class we always do on Mondays at 5:30. When we got to the gym the parking lot was packed, people were driving around looking for spaces like it was a shopping mall on black Friday or something. We parked in the back parking lot and David went inside right away to set up for our class. Well, the entire gym was packed full with all of the weights and bars taken. We were even ten minutes early and it was already completely full! We went ahead and put the girls in childcare and then just ran and did weights on our own. All of the treadmills were full and there were tons of people on all of the machines. One of the classrooms upstairs had a class and it was completely full. There was even a lady outside of the class watching the class (the walls are glass) and trying to follow along without hearing the instructor, that really got my funny bone, haha. Hopefully all of these people with their new year's resolutions will give up soon because it was soooo crowded!
We left after just under an hour and came home and put dinner in the oven. Then Jon Creech came by and dropped off our mail from when we were gone, we got tons of Christmas cards including a card from Aunt Rin and Mark in Uganda, thanks Aunt Rin, we were super excited! After dinner I put Emily to bed because she seemed tired and Haley just got into her bed because she thought it was her bedtime too. She had only been awake for just over three hours because of her late nap so I figured she wouldn't last. She laid in bed for a while and then came to the door ready to play. David took her out and played with her for a while and then put her to bed about forty-five minutes later and she went right down. Then I gave David a haircut, he looks like a different person now, his hair was getting so long!
Haleyism:
I was watching Haley while I was on the treadmill. She was watching a movie next to a little girl and at one point she leaned over and gave the girl a hug. Oh my, Haley is that weird little girl who gives hugs to anybody, oh my.
Emilyism:
Today I was holding Emily and I leaned over to get something and forgot she was there and her head hit her dresser on my way down. I felt so bad because she cried so hard but she hardly has any mark at all so I'm guessing she's okay...
Danielism:
Daniel is the first non-family member to watch both girls at once! We won't factor in that they were both sleeping for most of it...
*PLEASE pray for baby Claire! She had open heart surgery this morning and is doing okay but the next 24 hours or so are super critical for her! You can get more info here.
| Haley playing her kitchen tonight with Daddy. Looks like she has a load of wash going on behind her too. |
