All day Friday felt like Saturday. Even as I wrote this first sentence I had to stop and think what day it was. I did work three days this week so maybe that's why. Anyway, Emily woke up twice during the night but Katelyn only fed her the second time. Haley was up around 8 something. I brought her to bed with us and she promptly said "pupu potty!" so I had to get up with her. If she thinks she has to poop, she wants to go on the little potty, not on the big one. The sick part is that it is because she wants to see it. Whatever it takes I guess is better than in her underwear. Like all of us, she needs something to pass the time while she tries to do her business. Since she can't read, I put a Dora movie on for her...plus she's in the living room. Must be nice...we live in different worlds. After a while mommy woke up and got Emily up too. Haley and I shared some waffles while we finished what was apparently a full length feature film. We just played around for a little while then. At one point Haley and I took Pretzel, the puppy, outside so he could use the bathroom and run around. He didn't want to chase a ball. Well, he chased it once but didn't bring it back so that got old pretty quick, and since he's not my dog, I lost interest almost immediately. Haley just stayed on the picnic table out of reach and watched a plane fly by. There were some guys cutting down a tree in our neighbor's yard and I think she thought the wood chipper was another low flying airplane because she kept looking around for it. Then we got ready and headed out to see if Katelyn's ring was finished at the jeweler's. It is getting a band soldered to either side. It was not done yet so we headed to the gym and got there a few minutes early. We figured at least Haley could be in there because infants are limited to one hour and we were about ten minutes early. It was like a ghost town in there. I expected to see a tumble weed blow through the nursery. This was another instance of "man, it really is dead on saturdays...oh, wait, its friday." Since there was only one kid in the nursery and no babies, they said Emily could stay too! Katelyn and I got in an hour and ten minutes worth of exercise! I went to pick up the girls because Katelyn likes to take showers there since she can do it without having to worry about the girls. When I picked them up, Emily was fussy and wanting to eat. Haley immediately said "pupu potty!" so I grabbed her and asked them to watch Emily a little while but they told me just to take Haley to the nursery potty. I had never been past the little gate where you drop your kids off. I kind of think you are not allowed in there but there was hardly anyone there so they must have made an exception. I can see why Haley likes it. The potty is a real potty but miniature, special for babies. The toilet paper is down low at her level. The sink is down low (which the ladies said is her favorite part). And there is a soap dispenser down low. Actually, the soap dispenser was just an empty dispenser. They told me last week that they had to take it out because she makes a soapy mess. It would be pretty cool if you were that small. Then I took Haley and Emily and we waited for mommy. Haley and I went up and down the stairs several times which helped to distract Emily. When Katelyn came out of the locker room she looked like a model walking down a catwalk because her hair was all blow dried and it was "blowing" like when they have fans blowing at their heads. We were all glad to see her, especially Emily, who never agreed to a milk fast for lent. Then we went home and ate some lunch and put the girls to bed. After their nap, we ate dinner and then headed out to the grocery store. We got some pretty good deals. Actually, at Kroger we saved 43% which is pretty good. Haley thought that we were at the pet store because as we pulled into the parking lot, she started saying "peces, tugas!" There
are peces there but they are on ice and usually filleted. There is not a great way to get from Kroger to Walmart. Actually, the best way goes past our house, which can be kind of depressing or at least confusing for a little kid. She saw our street go past and said "there home". She snapped out of it pretty quick when we gave her a tastycake to snack on in Walmart. When we were checking out, Katelyn said something about us being out on a Friday night shopping trip to the cashier and I thought once again, uh Saturday. I'm glad I kept my mouth shut :) After the grocery shopping, we came home and put them to bed. Now Katelyn and I are gonna watch Moneyball from a free redbox coupon.
