Mommy and the girls hang out on Friday night!

Thursday night Emily slept through the complete night!  Well, I guess I am stretching the truth a bit.  I want her to sleep 12 hours straight and she did 11 hours and 45 minutes.  I decided that was close enough.  She woke up at 8:15 and I fed her and she ended up going back to sleep until 10.  Haley slept in until 9:30, she slept thirteen hours!  I have no idea why they were sleeping in so much but I didn't complain.

We got up and took showers after breakfast and then played outside for a while.  David even made us BLTs for lunch and we ate out at the picnic table.  Haley is so much easier to keep tabs of when she's outside.  I feel like when we are inside she is always hiding somewhere with something she's not supposed to have.  There isn't too much she can't have outside, fire ants are the only thing really.  We came inside when it was time for naps and both girls took 2 hour naps.  David left for a trip right at naptime and still isn't home so the rest of the day was just me and the girls.

When they woke up I gave Haley a snack and then we went to visit our elderly neighbor Francis, otherwise known as 'Nana.'  Nana was not feeling well so we said hi at the door and then headed right home.  I decided we might as well take the free time and go to the pet store.  Haley loves visiting the pet store and it is in the same shopping center as Kohls and I had gotten a $10 off anything coupon in my inbox so I wanted to stop there.  Once we got there Haley had to use the bathroom so we actually detoured over to Target to use their bathroom real quick.  Afterwards we browsed the dollar section for a couple minutes so it looked like we were in there for something other than the bathroom.  The manager was greeting people at the door so I was feeling a bit self conscious.  After Target we walked to the pet store.

We usually go to a pet store called Wet Pets 'n Critters but today we went to Petsmart.  That was a mistake, Petsmart is not near as cool as Wet Pets.  They had one cat and we didn't see any dogs.  It worked out that they had turtles because that was what Haley wanted to see.  After spending some time there we went back to the van and loaded up in the stroller.  Kohls was a couple stores down and it was super nice so I thought we should walk.  Haley held Emily in the stroller for almost the entire time.  I say almost because she had to get out two times at Kohls to use the bathroom.  It was a bad call to give her pretzels for a snack, I guess they made her thirsty.

I found a bathing suit for Haley on sale for 12 dollars.  With my ten dollars off thing and a 20% coupon I had it came to $1.73.  If they had done the 20% thing off first than it would have been free but I think the computer automatically does it so that the 20% off will be after the dollar amount off.  Whatever, that's still not bad for a swimsuit I think.  It is Carter's brand so hopefully it will last the summer.  I got another ten dollars off in another email inbox so I want to go back tomorrow and get the same suit for Emily.  It's supposed to be in David's name so I wasn't sure if they would let me do it without him.  After Kohl's we stopped by a little boutique right next to Kohl's.  It's that Compass store Rin, in case you are reading this.  Their stuff is so inexpensive, but it does seem kind of cheap.  I actually tried on a dress and shirt in the fitting room.  It was kind of a decoy to get into the fitting room so I could nurse Emily, she was getting hungry.

After the boutique we went back home and had dinner.  I put some leftover green beans in the food processor and tried them on Emily.  Green beans are my favorite vegetable so I had high hopes for them but Emily was not impressed.  She ate a couple bites and then kept spitting anytime I brought the spoon close to her mouth.  I was having leftover chicken and mashed potatoes so I offered her some potatoes but she only ate a couple bites of those too.  At that point Haley was eating ice cream for dessert (she had eaten a half of grilled cheese and some shredded cheese for dinner, haha, she said no to chips!) so I gave Emily a couple spoonfuls of that.  She definitely was okay eating the ice cream.  I remembered that babies aren't supposed to have ice cream until they are a year so I looked it up online and it was something about digesting the proteins so we'll see if she is super cranky tonight.

After dinner we skyped David for a little bit.  The connection was really bad so we ended up switching to the phone.  Haley loves to talk on the phone.  She was going on and on about something when she was on with David.  David said he felt like he was on the other end of a pretend conversation.  I told him he was!  By that point Emily could hardly keep her eyes open so I gave her a last feeding and put her down at eight.  Four hours awake is really pushing it for her.  Haley stayed up a little longer and read books with me and then I put her down around nine.

Haleyism:
Haley said a lot of cute stuff today, I will try and pick out the best ones.  At bedtime I was talking to her about Jesus and she started naming off all of the kids in her BSF class.  She definitely knows that they talk about Jesus at BSF, I hadn't even mentioned it but she put the two together right away.  I asked her point blank who came and died for her sins and she said, 'God.'  Close enough I think.  When I was tucking her in she kept saying 'tomorrow we ride horseys.'  I like to tell her what we're going to do the next day so she has something to look forward to, hoping it will make her want to go to sleep more.  Anyways, now I guess she thinks if she tells me what we're doing than it will happen.  She asked me to sing Happy Birthday to different song titles.  Try singing Happy Birthday to 'Jesus loves me' and 'Trust and Obey.'  It doesn't make any sense.  Aunt Rin sent a video of the toddlers enjoying the toddler house at the orphange.  Haley LOVED the video.  She kept laughing out loud at the kids, like she couldn't believe the outrageous things they were doing, such as smiling at the camera, haha.

Emilyism:
Emily had Cheerios today for the first time.  She actually got quite a few in her mouth and seems to be a fan.

Davidism:
Today at lunch David revealed that he has only been stung two times and both times were on his ear!  His ears don't even seem to stick out particularly far.  I guess wasps think they do.

Answers to questions from comments:
Kimi's question:  I decided to do a family photo shoot because I am not pregnant and look normal, haha.  Plus these counted for Haley's 2 year old pictures and Emily's 6 months.  Also, this particular photographer is super reasonable and is moving to Guatemala next week to be a missionary with is family.  I wanted to get in one last session before they left!
Abuelita's question:  I have the rights to all of the pictures, he gave me a cd.  The entire photo shoot and cd of pictures actually only cost $50!  Anyways, the ones on the blog are only the 'web versions' so if you want the full size ones just let me know.  I'm not sure what the difference is though.

A blurry picture of Haley in her bathing suit

She totally knew I was taking her picture and is trying to make a clueless expression as if she doesn't

Reading herself a book

Actually, this is just the cover of a book, the pages fell out, haha.

Happy baby outside at lunch.  Check out Haley behind her, haha

  1. Haley looks tiny in that picture of her outside. Perhaps it's the big stump.
    Cute swimsuits!
I hope I can find a photographer as well priced as that! That's amazing. And the pictures are fantastic.
I haven't even thought of offering Ellie Cheerios. I'll have to pick some up sometime. Right now she's gnawing on a pizza crust so that's similar.
How convenient to live so close to all those stores.
