Saturday morning the girls slept in. Emily had actually been up around five and she was hungry so I fed her and she slept in until we woke her up at 9:30. Haley was up around 8:30 and David made some pancakes for breakfast so she ate a couple of those. Then we both took showers and got ready to head out the door. The Grubbs, a couple from church, were moving today and David and I had volunteered to help. The Caldwells had graciously offered to keep the girls while we helped so that we could be more, well, helpful.
Haley was so excited to be going to Evelyn and Lucy's house. She was off and playing in a couple minutes once we arrived. I packed a bottle and some bananas for Emily and she did fine when I handed her off to Amanda. Then David and I drove to Kilgore (the next town over, about ten minutes away) to help with the move. The Grubbs were moving to a 2 bedroom apartment in their same apartment complex so it was a super easy move. Their old apartment and new apartment were both on the first floor and the new one was maybe fifty yards from the old one. We were able to completely move everything and clean the old apartment in just over four hours. Plus we stopped and had pizza for lunch. The cleaning part really did not take a long time at all because they are already fairly clean people and it was so small. I remember when we lived in our little apartment and I used to clean that thing from top to bottom in an hour. There are advantages to a small apartment...although that might be the only one.
We went and picked up the girls at about 2:45 and both of them were sleeping. Amanda had packed all four girls in one bedroom for naptime, I was pretty impressed. She had put an old toddler bed between Evelyn and Lucy's twin beds and then Emily was in a pack 'n play in the corner. Emily had been sleeping almost two hours and Haley had been out for an hour and a half so we decided to just wake them up. David had to get back so we didn't really have a choice. Amanda said the girls did well. She said that Haley used the potty a bunch of times and played nicely the whole time. Emily got sad a couple times but she said one time she was hungry and the second time she was tired so she just fed her and then put her to bed. Amanda also said she thinks that Emily prefers Ben, her husband, to her. She said that Emily cried when Ben left the room. Hmm, a slight crush maybe Emily?
When we got home David left to take a family from church to the airport. They are from Australia and are going back to visit for eight weeks! He was taking them to Dallas so he was gone until bedtime. I played with the girls in the den for a while and then we went out to buy hotdog buns for dinner. We stopped by the bakery because it is right across from the hotdog buns and the lady gave me six cookies! She put them in two containers so I think she thought Emily would eat three and Haley would eat three. If there are any hungry children in Longview I suggest they just go to the Wal-mart bakery. You can make a meal out of their cookie giveaway program.
The Caldwells had invited us to come for dinner at the Freeman's house. Meg and Vance Freeman, from church, are on a mini-vacation to Mexico and the Caldwells are watching their house and kids for the night. They were just grilling hotdogs and burgers so they invited the girls and I to come and hang-out. We took them up on the offer and brought the hotdogs and buns. Haley had so much fun with Evelyn, Lucy, Sara Cate and Owen. She actually spent the majority of the time with Sara Cate who is six. Sara Cate loves to hold Haley and does everything for her so I think Haley definitely has the best end of that deal. The Freemans also have a trampoline and Haley spent most of the time on that thing. We ended up staying until almost bedtime and then headed home. I let Haley stay up until David got home but Emily went right to bed, she was so tired. When David got home he fed Haley a snack and then she went right to sleep.
Haleyism:
Haley loves to pat me or David on the back and ask, "are you okay Mommy?" or "are you okay Daddy?" It's so sweet. I think she learned it from when she was sick and we pat her on the back after she was done throwing up and asked her if she was okay.
Emilyism:
Emily thinks she is a big girl. Today Haley was holding a bowl with some crackers in it and Emily kept trying to grab the bowl from her to get the crackers. Finally Haley just gave up and gave her the bowl.
I forgot to take pictures today but that's okay because David forgot to put up these two pictures of new baby Maya from yesterday! She is such a doll, we can't wait to meet her.

| This is my favorite one. Her skin reminds me of Haley's when she was a baby, it seems to be a little darker. |
