Masons and 1/2 Grubbs come for dinner

Sunday we woke up and got ready for church.  Haley was the first up, and after cuddling with us for a while I offered her a pop tart and she didn't want it.  Then Katelyn said I should just make one and not give her a choice.  That's what I ended up doing and when I came to get her from our bed and sat her down in front of the Pop Tart she just ate it. We had to drive separately because Katelyn had to go to FBC after church to sit at a table and try to get women signed up for MOPs next year.  Haley wore a Mexican dress that my grandmother sent for her.  She used the potty probably five times while we were there and ate at least two donuts.  There weren't that many people at church.  Summer is known for having families gone I guess.  Emily sat in the service pretty quietly, but did not take a nap.  After the service, we talked a while before Katelyn left to go to FBC.  I stayed and talked a while longer and finally decided it was time to go.  I started looking for Emily and couldn't find her anywhere.  Most people had already left church so it's not like there was a sea of people that she could hide in.  First I confused her with another baby a lady was holding.  Then I thought she might have just gone with Katelyn but I could see her car seat sitting there empty on the ground by where we had been sitting.  Right about the time I started to consider the rapture, Ella came in holding her.  I got Haley and Emily and all our stuff together then and we came home.  We wanted to wait for mommy to eat so we just played with toys for a few minutes.  It helped that Haley had eaten donuts at church and Emily had a bottle.  When Mommy got home, we made some BLT's and sat down to lunch.  Haley likes bacon...duh, who doesn't?! No but seriously, it's nice to have a meat that she actually picks up and eats just the plain meat without it having to be hidden in any other pasta or anything.  I guess chicken nuggets are like that too...if you consider them meat.  Speaking of not eating meat, I opened up a can of mandarin oranges (full size 8oz can) to share with Haley tonight and ended up eating all of it.  I ate the last little wedge and grabbed the bowl to drink the juice but I can't do it.  That's a lot of little oranges.  Anyway, during lunch, she was telling Mommy to give her kisses in between bites.
And herein lies the proof!
Emily ate a few bites of grilled cheese and some peaches.  After we were done with lunch, we put the girls to bed for a nap.  We had invited the Mason's over for dinner along with Kelsey Grubbs because her husband was gone on a business trip. I ran to Walmart to pick up some of the ingredients we needed to make the tacos, salsa, and guacamole.  Katelyn, jointly with Amanda, had offered to take Ella and Chloe out to Sonic for a study break on Sunday afternoon. Amanda came and picked her up around 2:30.  I stayed home and watched some videos on the Gospel Coalition's website.  Emily was the first to wake up around 3:30.  She had taken a good 2:30 nap and was quite pleasant.  We just played in the living room.  Katelyn called around 4:30 to say there had been a change of plans.  I needed to take the girls to get the last few ingredients because Katelyn and Amanda were still at Ella's house.  Apparently, one family from church (who's mom is gone in Europe on a trip for a few weeks) had an accident and their little boy slipped on a ladder for their pool and kind of cut his head open.  The dad called the Freeman's and dropped off his kids there so he could take the other one to the emergency room and Ella's mom went along.  Katelyn and Amanda had just picked up Chloe and had arrived at Ella's house when that all happened so they stayed with all the kids while the posse took Logan to the ER.  I then realized she was only supposed to be gone like an hour, haha.  I woke up Haley, who had been sleeping like four hours and still going strong, and got the girls in the car.  Haley didn't want to use the potty (bad attitude) so I just put her in panties and stuck her in her seat.  I figured they would only make it a horrible experience if I took them in to buy the tortillas so I just left them in the car.  The car was running with the AC on, no worries ;)  I talked to mom on the way on the phone.  Then we headed home and tried to get everything ready before people showed up at 5:30.  Kelsey was the first to arrive and she brought her puppy.  This made Haley very anxious and she wanted to be held.  I couldn't do it because I had to get the food ready and try to keep Emily from screaming at this point.  Kelsey held Haley and kept her out of reach of Baxter, the dog.  Haley likes Kelsey and wanted to show her her toys but Kelsey had to carry her wherever she wanted to show her something so that must have been kind of wierd.  I put Emily in the backpack and she just looked over my shoulder as if to say, "are you sure you put enough salt in the rice?" and other constructive criticism.  Then Katelyn arrived just as the Mason's were pulling in.  Haley had been talking about Caroline Mason all day and was super excited when she finally arrived.  We had a great time talking with them and Kelsey.  The kids played rather nicely.  Haley then came up to us and asked "Can I watch some Dora, please?"  It's hard not to reward such politeness so we did!  The Mason's left around 8:30 and Kelsey stayed to play a game of Ticket to Ride with us.  Haley and Emily went to bed just prior to us starting the game.

I know the internet and these kinds of pictures could easily be taken out of context.  That is NOT our kennel.  She put herself in there. She is NOT trying to get out.  It is NOT locked. We have an affidavit signed on her behalf attesting to the truthfulness of the aforementioned claims.

Haleyism: Haley did not want to go up and say the Nicene Creed at the end of the service.  She usually likes it. :(
Emilyism: Emily eats whole bananas for meals.  That's one big baby!
