Today was Clark's Birthday! If you have a mom, and I know you do, you may also know that it is mother's day. We got so swept up in my mother's day that we totally forgot to even call Clark about his Birthday! Tomorrow we are going to call you Clark, stand by our phone! As a result, I have no idea how Clark's Birthday went, I hope it was really wonderful. Here is a tribute for Clark:

Also, since it is mother's day, we might as well throw in a couple of our mom's! I did get to talk to mom this evening, it sounded like she had a good day.

Mimi: a mother of mothers. I just had to include this picture of her and Emily

Mimi and all her girls taken at Myrtle beach last summer. Can't wait for Rin's wedding in August! Seriously, I can hardly wait.

Abuelita and Haley and Daddy in Michigan. This was taken at a wedding David was in in August of 2011!
David had worship team this morning so my mother's day started rather appropriately, with me doing mom stuff. I fed the girls while I showered and then they played in their room while I got them ready. Emily got sad towards the end and she ended up crying a little bit while I quickly finished. Haley did come to me in the bathroom and said, "Emily's crying" as if I couldn't hear her from ten feet away. I guess I was acting like I couldn't hear her. I told her to give her her paci but apparently she already had it. I think she was just getting bored because she wasn't crying that hard. I didn't even notice that she had tears until we got to church and Kelsey Grubbs (a girl that goes to our church) noticed that she had a dried tear stain on her cheek. Poor Emy.
Emy actually may have been excited for mother's day because she woke up at 7:30 this morning. That wasn't really too bad except that it put her naptime right during the church service...and I had forgotten a bottle (bad mom on mother's day, not a good omen). It's getting impossible to breastfeed Emily in public when anything is going on because she cannot eat underneath the hooter hider, it's just too distracting for her. She always quits eating and instead works on clawing herself out of there which is rather terrifying for me. Anyways, as soon as the sermon started I took her to the back and breastfed her and then held her and swayed until she fell asleep. Then I slipped into the backrow and cuddled with her until the sermon was over. Emily does not often fall asleep with me holding her so it was a special treat, a mother's day gift if you will.
After church we came home and David made lunch while I hung out with the girls. He made BLTs which was nice and then he pulled out the dessert. Apparently he (and the girls? haha) got up at 6:30 this morning and made a cookie cake and chocolate covered strawberries! I had seen the strawberries in the fridge at breakfast but the cookie cake was a surprise. I was so impressed and everything was so good. I had also picked out a pair of shoes that I wanted from Target (and bought them actually, they were the ones I got really on sale a week ago or so) and I got those. It was all beautiful and very sweet. After lunch we put the girls down for naps and watched the rest of the Hobbit from the night before. I don't know if I mentioned that we rented the Hobbit last night but it is three hours long so we didn't finish it.
The girls really gave me a wonderful gift when they decided to nap the afternoon away. Haley slept about three hours and Emily slept almost four! We finished the movie and I took a nice nap, happy mother's day to me! By the time the girls woke up, it was about time for dinner. David grilled some hot dogs and we went to the park for a picnic. We set up a blanket on the grass and we all ate and then David and I watched Haley play. We ended up staying there about an hour and a half and then we headed home. We had invited the Grubbs and Richard and Jenna over for another game night but the Grubbs couldn't come. Richard and Jenna still wanted to do one anyways so we went for it. It ended up being really nice. Emily went to sleep at about 7:45 which only proves more that sleep begets sleep because she went right down after her four hour nap and not even being awake for three hours. Haley watched some of her Dora movie and then went down a little after nine without even a whimper, another mother's day present I'm assuming. We had a fun night of games until about eleven when Richard and Jenna headed home.
Haleyism:
Somebody told me today that Haley is looking more and more like me. I don't know about that though, maybe they were just being nice since it's mother's day.
Emilyism:
Emily sweats so much in her sleep. She did not seem hot at church but as soon as she fell asleep, beads of sweat started rolling off her head!

They made these cards at church for mother's day and it CRACKS ME UP! Last week they took pictures of the kids holding a pencil, this week they cut slits in the picture and put a flower in it. Result: little kid holding a huge flower, LOL
That is a hysterical idea for Haley's flower picture!! Love it! Also, sign David up to make chocolate covered strawberries at the wedding this summer!!! Love, Mimi
